QF Dreamliner to New York

Qantas plans to operate its new B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on its BNE-LAX-JFK route. As with the carrier’s current B747 service, the Los Angeles-New York sector will also connect with its SYD-LAX and MEL-LAX flights. Qantas will also operates its new B787 aircraft on it Melbourne-Los Angeles route from 15 December and its non-stop Perth-London route from 24 March 2018.
 

QF Dreamliner amenity kits

Qantas is celebrating the arrival of its new Dreamliner aircraft by offering a limited edition amenity kit on board. Created in collaboration with Oroton and Australian artists Craig & Carl, the bag will feature a black embossed print and an eye mask with the same design. It will be offered on services between Melbourne and Los Angeles between December and March.
 

Etihad trials new fare type

Etihad Airways is testing new short-haul hand luggage only economy airfares. The trial is runs from 18 October to 18 December on flights from Abu Dhabi to Bahrain and Kuwait.
 

Raffles Warsaw

A new Raffles hotel is planned for Poland. The 106-room Raffles Europejski Warsaw is set to open in early 2018. Located in a beautifully restored historic building on the ‘Royal Route’ in the Old Town, the property will feature a restaurant, bar, cigar lounge, patisserie and a spa.

 

IHG Asia Expansion

InterContinental Hotels Group plans to debut its EVEN Hotels brand in China. The EVEN Hotel Sanya Yalong Bay will open in 2019, followed by another in Shanghai in 2020. Deals have also been signed for EVEN hotels in Chongqing and Jinan. Meanwhile, the group is also planning to expand its Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand into Asia, with the opening of the Kimpton Bali in 2019 and the Kimpton Shanghai Jing’an and Kimpton Resort Sanya Haitang Bay in China in 2021.
 

New Melbourne Mantra

Mantra Group has plans for a new property in Clayton, southeast Melbourne The 10-storey Mantra M-City hotel will feature 250 rooms, a restaurant and bar as well as conference facilities. It is set to open in late 2020.
 

Westin Darwin

Marriott International is planning its Northern Territory debut. The 240-room Westin Darwin is set to open in 2020 in the Darwin Waterfront Precinct. The hotel will feature three dining venues, a fitness centre and more than 1,100sqm of meeting and event space.

Accor expands in UK

AccorHotels is planning to open two new Mercure hotels in the UK. The 62-room Mercure Warwick Honiley Court and the 94-suite Mercure Walsall Barons Court are set to open by the end of 2017 and early 2018 respectively. Both are located in the West Midlands region.
 

Fairfield expands in India

Marriott International has added two new Fairfield by Marriott-branded hotels to its India portfolio. The 106-room Fairfield by Marriott Indore in Madhya Pradesh and the 128-room Fairfield by Marriott Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
 

AC Marriott into Tokyo

Marriott International has announced that Tokyo will be home to the first AC Hotel in the Asia Pacific region. Located a short distance from the Ginza and Tokyo stations, the 296-room AC by Marriott Tokyo Ginza is set to open in 2020, offering all-day dining options, an executive lounge, a meeting room and a fitness centre.
 

New Sheraton Guangzhou

A new Sheraton-branded property has opened in China - the 291-room Sheraton Guangzhou Nansha Hotel. The hotel features a choice of dining venues, a Club Lounge, outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre as well as 2,000sqm of meeting and event space.
