Air New Zealand announces additional capacity on the Tasman

Further to the announcement last week regarding the suspension of their alliance with Virgin Australia from the 28 of October, Air New Zealand have announced additional capacity on their trans-Tasman network from the end of this year - great news for business travellers.

With the additional capacity joining the network in stages between 28 October and 18 December, there are changes for key business routes as listed below:

An addition of the NZ721/720 carrier adds an additional weekday service for travellers, with a service departing Auckland at 0730, and returning from Melbourne at 1035.

Additional frequency of carriers NZ733 (Auckland-Brisbane at 19:30) and NZ732 (Brisbane-Auckland at 0835) will be scheduled to fly 5x a week, giving trans-Tasman travellers more flexibility.

There will be brand new services operating up to 5x a week, with a return day trip possible 3x days per week. Outbound flights will depart Wellington at 0610, and returns will depart Brisbane at 1735.

A re-timed service with additional frequency will operate a double daily service 4x days per week. Outbound the service will depart at 0620, 6x days per week, returning at 1740. The existing 1740 Brisbane-Christchurch service will remain unchanged.

A re-timed service with additional frequency will operate a double daily service 6x days per week. Outbound the new afternoon service will depart Christchurch at 1600, returning from Melbourne at 1855. The existing morning departure remains unchanged.
